The Story

Growing up in Kansas City means growing up with opinions about BBQ sauce before you have opinions about much else. In KC, sauce is not a condiment, it is a conviction. You defend your favorite the way other cities defend their pizza. With passion. With data. Occasionally with raised voices.

When we started seriously exploring the hot sauce aisle, the BBQ shelves, the salsa section, we got frustrated fast. Not by the sauces themselves, but by the information about them. Every "best hot sauce" list was wrapped in affiliate links. Every ranking was influenced by ad spend. The reviews were shallow. The recommendations were bought. The whole ecosystem was broken.

So we built iHEARTsauce. Not as a business first, as a mission. A commitment to doing this right. We cover three categories because they represent the three pillars of the sauce world: BBQ sauce, hot sauce, and salsa. Every ranking is compiled from expert reviews, competition results, and sauce communities worldwide — then layered with our own hands-on tasting. No scores are fabricated. No paid placements.
